Feeling misunderstood?

Oklahoma Horizon in May …

He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works. ~Psalm 33:15

This time of year in my home state, there are fields and fields of golden wheat wavin’ in the wind as it moves across the plain. It is harvest time; seeds were planted, seeds burst into sprigs of green that grown tall … that produced seeds and fields of golden wheat wavin’ in the wind as it moves across the plain.

The visual transition from plowed dirt fields, to fields sown full of seed, to fields of green and gold is one of my favorite things. It gently reminds me of the transition of life, the ever-changing way things appear within said transition.

The photo image here is from last May. I remember the day vividly. Because of its pain and “plowing” I wondered to myself if harvest would ever come again. And yet I was blessed with Grace to move through …

It has.

But there were countless — seemingly endless — times when I could only imagine, dream or barely hope for the harvest. I felt so misunderstood — I was misunderstood — in the midst of my circumstances.

Feeling misunderstand is paralyzing; it is aggravating; it is discouraging.

However, our feelings provide us with insight to many aspects of our lives and indicate moments and opportunities that require us to rely upon Someone other than ourselves. The One who knows us, Who fashioned our hearts and understands all of our works.

As I have moved through the past 12 months, I have been blessed to rely upon my loving Abba Father for comfort. Some posts that reflect His insights to me …

Dear reader, I write here (and link back to previous writings) because so many times when we cry out for help — for understanding … It comes to us almost disguised as a coincidence.

We dismiss so many “touches” and intentional encouragement because in our struggle, the sounds of our groaning is louder than the answers we seek. And if we are able to recognize and process a kind word or a “come-alongside-moment” it often “feels like” a single raindrop on the desert of our soul, thus it is quickly absorbed and forgotten.

Opportunities for thanksgiving do exist. Each day small spoonfuls of sugar rest atop our table; spoons awaiting their role in helping the medicine go down.
