Itsy Bitsy Spider
So, I am a nature nut … Spiders in my gardens are a blessing since they help with unwanted insects. Besides they are fascinating!
This particular spider was spinning away at the intricate lines of his web one morning while I was nearby planting pansies in my garden. The very same morning I had just reached the end of my proverbial rope!
Camera in hand, I walked closer and began to watch as he spun away, repairing the broken strands of his web. (Or “she” and “her web” … After all, it could be Charlotte!
)
Studying the details of the delicately woven web and the busy spider, I noticed the drops of morning moisture clinging to the web strands. And there was gentle movement caused by the wind, causing the perfectly spun rows — linked together in a circle — to rock back and forth.
Lifting my camera, I took aim and pressed the shutter button. However, the first image I captured was a dark blur on a golden canvas.
Oddly enought, due to my focus being upon the spider, I didn’t even notice the golden Autumn hues in the background. Until I stopped and captured an image what I was viewing.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
That was it! I was so hyperfocused on what was frustrating me in my life that I didn’t even notice the beauty all around!
Do you ever have those days when you feel like a heap on the floor? Maybe you are a heap on the floor … As you wonder, “What else can go wrong?” You are desperate for some sort of relief … Hyperfocused on the frustrating elements of your life?
Perhaps you, too, are overlooking the beauty which is in the background?
The itsy, bitsy spider
Crawled up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out
Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain
And the itsy, bitsy spider
Crawled up the spout again.
